Closed block, firmly connected with the landscape as if it were guarding the secret of the interior. Inside it hides the treasures of nature in illuminated stones, copper flashes on the furniture and noble facings of natural wood. The interior is coherent, timeless but also introduces another story, another story of new settlers.
A few words about the project
House set in mysterious scenery of the unspoiled Holy Cross Mountains, known from legends and parables is a refuge for a family of five. We approached the interior design holistically, our goal was to create a symbiosis of pristine nature with extreme modernity.
From the very entrance, we are invited by large-format portraits of the owners in a fairy-tale interpretation of painter Maggie Piu – the author of all paintings dedicated to this interior. The ethereal staircase, hanging in the foreground and covered with white stone, rises from horizontal and vertical gardens and climbs the slate wall. From them we have a view of the entire living space and the captivating panorama of the mountains behind the glass facade of the living room.
We can separate the kitchen from the open dining space with a louvered sliding door. The two rooms are made of one material, creating a cohesive space when the shutter is opened. Don Looper’s 1940’s artwork with a banana leaf pattern gives the dining room a retro luxurious feel.
The living room, with its expansive lounge facing a chain of mountain ranges, is conducive to contemplation and relaxation. From here, behind a hidden door, we can walk through a long tunnel carved into the rock to the outdoor swimming pool, which unexpectedly reveals once again the beautiful mountain panorama. There is peace, well-being and serenity here.
Throughout the interior we are guided by natural materials, rich drawings of stone and wood. However, upstairs in the night area, color appears in the floral motifs of the Moroso armchairs, hand-painted wallpapers in the closet and colourful upholstery in the bedroom. In the bathrooms, stone mosaics, organic fixtures and lofty frames on the mountain panorama. Pastels reign in the children’s bedrooms, giving a fresh and light Scandinavian style.
